Celsius Leads the Beverage Industry to be Greener

Since 2004, Celsius has humbly been the leader in supporting long-term health for athletes. We always offer natural, purposeful ingredients that serve as a sustained energy source, and never use artificial sweeteners or colors. Our team ensures corporate culture at Celsius remains at the highest level of integrity and brand authenticity. We always consider our customers, employees, shareholders, and stakeholders, when making intentional decisions to optimize our corporate citizenship.  

Since becoming CEO seven years ago, I have focused on ensuring that our rapid growth never compromises our positive environmental efforts. All of Celsius’ co-packing and distribution centers have run on renewable solar panel energy and 100% recycled water since 2023. We surpass the industry standard in beverage packaging with over 90% of our goods packaged in aluminum, which is completely recyclable, while our competitors come in at 75%. Aluminum packaging has proven to reduce carbon dioxide emissions during transportation as cans save 20% of space compared to plastic bottles, and 40% of space compared to glass bottles, eliminating the number of trips and commercial trucks utilized. Furthermore, our can suppliers are committed to reducing the amount of aluminum contained in each can. By 2028, we are committed to further our recycled packaging innovation by ensuring 100% of our goods will be packaged with biodegradable materials.

In addition, “Celsius Cycle” our newest recycling initiative is opening in 20 universities across the United States this fall. Anyone can stop by our provided bottle and can recycling bins and receive points towards free Celsius drinks and merchandise. This initiative aims to spread awareness to students on how simple, yet impactful recycling is.

To date, Celsius has spent $10 million on new research and development efforts to adopt groundbreaking, novel, and sustainable manufacturing creations. This includes evaluating and optimizing our use of fossil fuels. Through energy audits tests, we have reduced our overall fossil fuel emissions across all Celsius manufacturing facilities by 10% the past three years by using natural gas for energy production, as opposed to oil. The addition of solar panels on our facilities the past 5 years alone have produced 300 watts of electricity per hour for 5 hours daily. This has generated a yearly savings of 547.5 kilowatts per hour.

The endless dedication and ongoing passionate efforts of our team strengthen the Celsius community. Celsius has exponentially grown since 2020. From 2020 to 2023 we have seen over a 100% year-over-year increase in our annual revenue. We take this growth as a huge responsibility, and it further motivates us to grow for the good of our community and the environment. Our promise is to innovate our environmental initiatives as much as humanly and technologically possible. We will never let the growth of our company interfere with the environmental promises we make to our community.
